Acceptance & Belonging

Ahhh to stop and smell a rose! It’s a gorgeous sight and smell, isn’t it!?
One that might take your breath away! Have you ever wondered how those silky soft petals ever managed to come forth through all those thorns? Surrounded by jagged leaves and thousands of thorns, this tiny bud forms at the end of each living branch. When we bask in the beauty of the blooming flower we know that the rose is exactly where it needs to be in order to bloom! It belongs amongst those thorns that protect such a delicate flower. Without those prickly thorns, there would be no hope for such a beautiful creation.

Just like a rose needs it’s roots, stems, leaves and thorns all to produce a breathtakingly beautiful flower...We need a family in order to grow into the best us we can be! We were created to live life with others who share in the same beliefs as we do. To give and receive in a manner that is contributing value to those around us. Take a look at Romans 1:11-12 (NLT), we are instructed to “help you grow strong in the Lord...encourage you in your faith and be encouraged by yours.”

Like flowers, we too need help to fully become who we are meant to be.
We need a strong foundation to plant our roots much like God’s love is the root of life! Ephesians 3:17 (NLT) states “your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong.” A rose must grow its roots into nourishing soil in order to create a bud that has the ability to bloom into a flower. We need a family to do that for us! A family that will support and nourish your growth while growing your faith in Jesus Christ.

Father’s Promise Ministries is where God led me to find my roots. A body of believers that genuinely care about your wellbeing. To lift you up in sorrow and share in your joy. A family to belong to. A family that accepts you. When you accept Jesus into your heart, you then belong to the family of God. Psalms 68:6 (NLT) says “God places the lonely in families”. Without the rose's structure, there would be no flower. Without family, we can not bloom into the powerful and peaceful ones God created us to be!

After all, you are fearfully and wonderfully made! (Psalm 139:14 KJV)
I invite you to come and grow with us! As Proverbs 11:14 (KJV) states “where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors, there is safety.” We are all roses, just in different blooming seasons. Some of us are mature in the Word and have wisdom to share, while others (like myself) are still growing. Waiting for our time to bloom!
Come expecting to be accepted and find a family to belong to.
Always, Amber
